About Karla
Choosing health coverage can feel like decoding a foreign language: networks, deductibles, formularies, enrollment windows. I’m Karla Hernandez, a licensed health insurance advisor and National Producer, and my job is to translate.
And I’m bilingual. Hablo español, and I’m happy to work with you and your whole family in English or Spanish, so you can ask your questions in the language you’re most comfortable with.
I take the time to learn about you: your doctors, your prescriptions, your budget and what matters most. Then I lay out your options side by side, honestly and without pressure. And I’m not a one-and-done: when you have a question about a claim, a renewal or a life change, you can reach out and I’ll help.
How it works
Working with a licensed advisor doesn’t add to the cost of your plan, and your first consultation is free.
Pick a time that works for you, or give me a call. Tell me about your health needs, your doctors and your budget.
I’ll lay plans out side by side (premiums, deductibles, networks and drugs) and explain the trade-offs honestly.
Once you’ve chosen, I’ll help with the application, and I’m here for questions at renewal, claims and life changes.
Know your windows
Open Enrollment for individual & family plans. Deadlines vary by state and year, so it pays to book early.
Losing coverage, moving, marriage or a new baby can open a window, typically about 60 days. Ask me what applies.
Employers can typically start group coverage outside Open Enrollment. Let’s see what fits your team.
Auto-renewal isn’t always your best fit. Let’s check cost and coverage before your plan renews.
FAQ
Don’t see yours? Call, email or send me a message and I’ll get back to you.
Ask a questionNo. Your consultation is free, and you never pay a fee for my guidance. Agents are typically compensated by the insurance carrier when you enroll, and working with an advisor doesn’t add to the price of your plan.
Yes. I’m bilingual and happy to work with you in English or Spanish. Use the EN / ES switch at the top of the page to read this site in either language, and just tell me which you prefer when we talk.
It helps to know your state, who needs coverage, your doctors and any prescriptions you take, and your estimated household income if you’re shopping Marketplace plans. Don’t worry if you don’t have everything. We’ll sort it out together.
That’s the first thing we check. Every plan has its own provider network and drug list (called a formulary), so I compare your doctors and prescriptions against each plan you’re considering before you choose.
Most people enroll during Open Enrollment, which for Marketplace plans begins Nov 1. Outside that window you may still qualify for a Special Enrollment Period after a life event such as losing coverage, moving, getting married or having a baby, and small businesses can often start group coverage outside Open Enrollment. Book a call and I’ll tell you which window applies to you.
Reach out as soon as it happens. A job change, a move, marriage, a new baby or losing coverage can open a Special Enrollment Period, typically about 60 days from the event, and I’ll make sure we don’t miss your window.
Yes. I help owners understand their options, from small teams to owner-only setups, and what fits their budget. Book a call and we’ll look at what makes sense for your business.
